About: Book of Beasties is a developer of mental health games and educational resources that puts children's wellbeing at the top of the learning agenda. Our core resource, Book of Beasties: The Mental Wellness Card Game is a multi-award winning, psychologist endorsed and evidence-based early intervention for children aged 7-12 that aspires to raise emotional literacy, teach resilience, empathy and encourage the open conversation about mental health.

The game has been the subject of a pilot study run by the University of West London with whom we are affiliated and who have shown interest in conducting a wider study on the impact of Book of Beasties: The Mental Wellness Card Game and the benefits of using play with this type of education as highlighted in the pilot.

In reaction to COVID19 we developed a subscription based platform to support teachers and parents throughout and beyond the lockdown, on which we regularly publish educational, wellness and creative based materials that use the art of story telling and play to promote wellbeing across the whole national curriculum.

To date the Mental Wellness Card Game is being used by more than 100 schools with a reach of over 25,000 children, and our digital resources have been downloaded in excess of 10,000 globally with teachers calling it "health and wellbeing support at its best."

Our resources have also been used by our partner Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, to support the wellbeing of the children there who were isolated from their friends and families during the pandemic. It has also been well received at Ty Hafan Children's Hospice in Wales where it is used as the primary resource to support siblings of children who have passed away.
