About: In a world facing unprecedented challenges, Snowflake Education empowers students and educators to rise to the occasion by embedding sustainable development into the heart of education. The company was founded in 2016 by Dr Jon-Erik Dahlin, at the time a lecturer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and currently a Reader in Engineering Education at King’s College London. Snowflake Education was born from a vision to integrate sustainability into every aspect of learning.

Our innovative approach addresses the complexity of sustainable development, which is holistic and value-laden, making it accessible and engaging for students. We believe that knowledge alone isn’t enough; it’s the application of this knowledge through critical thinking and systems thinking that truly drives change. That’s why our programmes are based on research-backed principles of active learning and the flipped classroom model.

Our expertise:
(1) Interactive Learning: Combining digital self-studies with interactive seminars and workshops, our method incorporates board games, simulations, and role-playing to create dynamic and engaging learning experiences. This approach not only makes learning fun but also helps students develop essential competencies for sustainable development.
(2) Comprehensive Curriculum Integration: We assist sixth forms, secondary schools, universities, companies, and government agencies in integrating sustainability into their curricula and operations. By doing so, we ensure that all students, regardless of their future profession, are equipped with the tools to contribute to social, economic, and environmental transformation.
(3) Educational Games: Our unique educational games are at the core of our teaching method. These games, whether played online or in the classroom, foster deep learning and make complex sustainability concepts accessible and enjoyable.

Snowflake Education’s methodology has been adopted by institutions worldwide, highlighting our commitment to a vision where education aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in Agenda 2030. Our dedicated team continues to develop and distribute tools that reduce the preparation time for teachers while enhancing student engagement and understanding.

Join us in transforming education for a sustainable future. With Snowflake Education, you’re not just teaching; you’re shaping the next generation of leaders equipped to tackle the greatest challenges of our time.
